Touchstone™ is a real fired-porcelain wall panel system, unlike laminate shower panels, which are high-pressure laminate (HPL) — a decorative layer bonded to a composite core. Both carry a printed stone pattern; the difference is what the pattern lives in. Touchstone's is fired into a vitrified porcelain surface, where laminate's sits under a resin wear layer. Porcelain is harder and more scratch- and heat-resistant. Laminate costs less.
