Shower wall panels for student and campus housing

Campus housing renovates in a fixed window: move-out in May, move-in in August. Everything in between has to finish on schedule.

Cure time is what breaks a summer schedule

Touchstone™ is real 6mm porcelain on a patented mechanical track, and it installs dry. A tiled surround needs waterproofing, thinset, grout, and sealer, and each one has to cure before the next step starts. Multiply that by every bathroom in the building.

  • A shower surround in about a day
  • No thinset or grout, so nothing cures between steps
  • One installer working dry, no sequence of wet trades to wait on
  • The same kit and sequence in every room

Cut the cure time out and the schedule tracks crew size. That’s something a facilities team can plan around.

Built for harder-than-average use

Student bathrooms take more abuse than most. The face is real fired porcelain — the same material class as premium tile. It doesn’t scratch or dull the way a plastic or gel-coat finish does under abrasive cleaning.

When a panel gets damaged, it comes off and a replacement goes on. No need to rebuild the surround around it.

Anchoring and accessories

Campus buildings are almost always metal stud. 3/4" plywood or OSB blocking goes between the studs to give the track system a solid anchor point, with additional blocking wherever seats, grab bars, or other accessories are planned. Those locations get set during framing. Lock in accessory layout at coordination, before the wall gets framed.

Specifying it

Campus projects route through our distributors.

Touchstone ships Q3 2026. Housing offices and design teams come in through our factory relationships, and the project routes to the distributor covering that market. Factory-trained installers and a manufacturer-backed warranty come with the kit.

Every kit carries 3 years of commercial coverage out of the box. Installs completed by a Factory Trained Installer to the full Pro spec, and registered within 30 days, carry 15 years. Read the warranty.

Common questions

A tiled surround moves through several wet trades, and each one has to cure before the next starts. That's what turns one bathroom into a week. Panels mount mechanically. The crew sets the pace.

A full shower surround installs in about a day, with no thinset, grout, or wet trades.

The face is real fired, vitrified porcelain, the same material class as premium porcelain tile. It's not molded plastic or gel-coated resin. It resists scratching and heat, and it doesn't dull the way a coated surface does.

The panels are mechanically attached, not bonded in thinset. A damaged panel comes off, a replacement goes on, and the rest of the surround stays put. It also means a plumbing repair stays a plumbing repair — you don't have to rebuild the shower to get behind the wall.

In metal stud framing, 3/4" plywood or OSB blocking is added between the studs to give the track system a solid anchor point. Additional blocking goes behind that where accessories such as seats and grab bars are planned.
